What advantage do virtual assistants have in working on a contractual basis providing a telephone answering service? It is fairly easy to see some of the incentives for companies (especially small businesses) to take advantage of such virtual office duties because of all of the enormous savings involved. However, it is not as apparent for the outsider to notice all the benefits that such a self-employed person would personally receive.

After all, they are not actually hired as employees and therefore not subject to the same hiring standards and required benefits by law. Yet, virtual assistants who work as self-employed often have tax advantages for operating a small business and virtual office out of their own homes. Another big advantage is that virtual assistants are not generally prohibited from working for multiple clients at the same time. The time spent on telephone answering service, for example, can potentially be a lot more productive at generating money when multiple clients are paying for their service over the same time frame. There is little, if any, down time while they are actually working.

The virtual assistant is not restricted in the amount of time that he or she can work. They are only limited by the hours that are self-imposed. Virtual assistants can work during their spare time. They can farm out services to others when they need vacation or some time off for medical reasons. Or they can network with like minded self-employed virtual assistants and associates to share workloads and ensure a constant stream of business opportunities.
